I want to describe my conversation with Lisandra Rickards, Founder of Soul Career and former CEO of Branson Centre for Entrepreneurs in Jamaica as vegetables alongside a healthy serving of dessert. Yes, our conversation was a healthy treat! A Bohemian free spirit at heart, Lisandra shares with us her journey from finance to now being her own boss.
We spoke about how studying and living abroad shaped her identity. We discussed how she’s been able to come into her own as a woman and how being leader has shaped that process. We also ventured into the role of women in society, how Jamaican women typically shoulder a disproportionate amount of the burden of adulthood and the implications for our romantic relationships.
Stay til the end to hear Lisandra’s best advise for entrepreneurial women (I invited her to get technical and put on her Harvard Business School cap here) as well as what keeps her driven.
