Depending on the state you reside in, or the overall culture of the school district you reside in, you will almost always experience some level of pushback from guidance counselors about dual enrollment.  DO NOT be dissuaded or discouraged by this.  Expect it.  Plan for it.  Protect against it. 

Arm yourself with information, advocate for your child, and work closely with your sponsor dual enrollment school to ensure your child is meeting deadlines and reaping the benefits of this priceless educational opportunity.
