What is research capacity development all about, what is the purpose and lessons learnt from the ‘Building Stronger Universities’ programme and how has it strengthened the State University of Zanzibar? In this episode, four researchers from the State University of Zanzibar – Fatma Saleh, Biubwa Ally, Aziza Abdulqadir and Idrissa Yusef Ahmed – and Bjørg Elvekjær, Senior Advisor at the University of Copenhagen, who has been the coordinator of the partnership on the Danish side from the very beginning, talk about the impact of a decade’s collaboration. 

For more than a decade, the research capacity development programme ‘Building Stronger Universities’ has strengthened higher education institutions in Tanzania, Ghana, Uganda, Kenya, and Nepal. This podcast series zooms in on and explores the story, experiences and results of the partnership between Danish universities and the State University of Zanzibar.
