Before dropping off Brielle (my oldest daughter and also autistic) at college for her freshman year, I convinced her to sit down with me and share her thoughts on growing up on the spectrum.  She shared her thoughts on common perceptions and misconceptions, what she wishes I had known sooner, what I could have done differently as a parent, and what parents of children on the autism spectrum should keep in mind.  I hope you find the insights from my daughter helpful!
