For the last few days, I've been increasingly reflective of how powerful "desperate situations" are in our lives. Sure they bring us stress, negative feelings, a sense of unsettlement, but at the same time they give us something very important, something many people struggle to maintain: motivation.
If you think back to your most creative moments, likely it was during a time of desperation. Remember tying to fix that door or fence? You couldn't run out to the store cause it was closed. What did you do? You found a solution! You created a lock out of some old strings or twist ties or you wedged it up with some scrap twigs and wood.
Whatever sticky situation you find yourself in, there's no denying it: desperation is a great motivation. It also provides a very conducive environment for developing your creativity. So go ahead, get out there and be desperate! Embrace it.
I hope you enjoy this recount of my time spent in Cuba while sharing my observation of desperate situations.
