One of the most heinous crimes in the the state of Iowa's history, the Villisca Ax Murders, took place overnight on June 9, 1912. The bodies of Josiah and Sarah Moore, their four children and two visiting girls were found in the Moore home. These murders are still unsolved over 110 years later.
