On this episode of the podcast Cody sits down with YYC lounge rock band Meadow Drive in its entirety. The band just released an EP titled The Art of Misinterpretation so the five of them chat about that and how it came to be. They also touch on a wide variety of other subject matter including: saying yes to gigs before you have your full line-up and the magic that can come about as a result, writing lyrics based off of how words sound rather then the meaning behind them, pulling from a wide variety of different genres to create a unique sound, how the people who influence you creatively don’t necessarily have to be the same as who your favorite artists are, playing the guitar like its a vocalist singing, more cowbell is always better, the trial by fire that is playing in front of a live audience, how having deadlines tends to be a good thing, finding space within your songs for each instrument to come through and shine, how honesty is the foundation for any good band, and remembering to have fun along the way. You can listen to the song Counterfeit Ending off of the bands most recent EP at the end of the episode.
