I'm 4-5 hours out from breaking my 72-hour fast and this has been an incredibly impactful experience. I want to share with you what my current experience is as well as some of what I have been experiencing up until this point.
Now that I am nearing the close of this process, these are some of the elements that I have noticed about the way that I have felt
I am now well aware of the habits that I have developed in my life up until this point. It became evident to me when I literally opened up the fridge and pantry just to look at the food. Due to my habitual behavior, I did this despite knowing that I did not intend to eat anything.
I was able to talk with my friend Taylor who recommends this type of fast to her clients. She suggested that when I resume a normal diet, I should do it lightly. Smoothies and fish such as salmon, trout and tilapia were recommendations from her. The reintroduction of foods is actually an important element of the fast. I asked for her guidance to make sure that I didn't just blow all of my hard work
This process has really taught me a lot about the emotions that I am now well aware of as it relates to temptation. I purposely walked through the market not to shop, but to write down each food item that I identified was a craving of mine.
It is important to understand temptation inside of your own life to be able to gain a full picture of why it is that you crave or desire what it is that you want in life. Where does that craving come from? Why am I experiencing this right now?
I want to take a moment to say that you should always do your own research and consult your personal physician before you make any changes to your own diet. What I have shared in this episode is based on my own experience and research.
