Dan Shaw is British Sport Psychologist, his experience includes working alongside an ex-Manchester United Coach with Premiership and international level athletes within an elite gym based in Manchester.
Dan has worked in professional football with a small number of clubs delivering sport psyhology to academies on a group and one to one basis as a performance psycholologist/trainee sport and exercise psychologist. Dan has also worked with a range of athletes including an International Weightlifter on a one-to-one basis in preparation for to major competitions.
Dans research specialisms include 'The Integration of Imagery into a Pre-Shot Routine' and more recently 'The Effects of Caffeine and the Suggestion of Caffeine on Mood, Perceived Workload, Physical Performance and Cognition' which is now being reviewed for publication.
In this episode Dan and I discuss academic aspects and approaches that form the basis of mainstream sport psychology, and how these can be applied to everyday use for those who exercise and train.
