WARNING - This episode may be difficult for some listeners to listen to as it contains actual 911 calls from September 11th, 2001.
It’s a date that will forever be etched in our minds, 9/11. I remember the day like rewinding a video in my mind. I was roughly 5 months pregnant with Ethan, it was a day like any other. We dropped Liam off at his caretaker’s, Jeff dropped me at work and continued on to his. Not long after settling at my desk, I could hear a coworking going on about a plane hitting the WT Centre. I brushed it off, thinking it must have been a Sezna or something. But the commotion grew and I wandered out of my office to find everyone sitting quietly around a radio.
You could hear a pin drop when we heard that a second plane had hit, I remember thinking – What is going on in the world? As scary as it was, I wasn’t there, my story is told from miles away. What about the people that were there, watching this unfold, right in front of them?
Joining me today is John Fucile, friend and professor at Ithaca College – Park School of Communications, to share his story, of being in NYC on that fateful day 9/11.
