In this episode we talk about podcast introductions and whether some of them actually scare away not only your potential podcast subscribers, but also currently-subscribed ones. We also talk about the solutions to using podcast introductions wisely in a way that allows you to keep your subscribers and attract new ones.

This is Bruce. And this is Megan become a successful podcaster. And we're talking about intros, and do they scare your subscribers away? Now, let's just have a real loose conversation about it. We're sitting here, I'm eating my potato blends and drinking coffee. And Megan's got oatmeal and Gatorade. So, Megan, flat out, do the intros, every single episodes, the same one scare subscribers away? Well, you know, I've been listening to a lot of the podcasts on the network.
And
I hear this intro. And somebody had an intro that went on way too long. And I waited, then they had their verbal opening line. So every time they open their podcast, they give the same introduction about themselves. Well, I looked at it was practically two minutes with the intro music two minutes with the intro music in the verbal Hi, I'm such and such, and this is such and such. And I'm such as they were talking about themselves introducing themselves, every single podcast, but every podcast they did was the same. Same intro the same intro but two minutes is too long, I think. Yeah, I mean, that's good time where the podcasts are can be talking about whatever their episodes, it wasn't just at the music, I think that they had music going on for too long. And it wasn't even the music kind of music I would like. So music can be very personal. So if you're gonna put music, they have to have a 10 second clip of music that'll identify them to their subscribers, not something that you want your audience to listen to. Because if they don't like that music, they're going to immediately turn off. Well, it's not just the music in general, I think two minutes of an intro is way too long.
Especially.
I think I think it should be no more than 10 seconds, to be honest with you. I listened to a very good friend of mine who I met on LinkedIn. I'm not going to mention his name. But he's a great podcaster the intro goes on way too long. And let me tell
