Chris Carr is the President and CEO of Farotech, the fastest-growing marketing agency in Philadelphia. He is also the host of two podcasts, The Digital Marketing Masterclass and Thought Leader Magazine.
Having been in the marketing industry for 20 years now and being a massive Elon Musk guy, Chris uses a marketing approach called the "Tesla experience" – which means reimagining something that has never been built before. He has created an alternative to traditional marketing that has changed the way people execute. He believes that being willing to throw away the playbook and looking at things from a fresh perspective always works!
Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
Episode Highlights:
An Aligned Marketing Approach
At Farotech, they do two-month gap assessments for clients where they do a deep dive into their business and develop a three to a five-year roadmap. Part of the process is asking the 5 Why's to really get to the heart of why they're doing something because your product needs to align with the emotional reason of why it needs to solve this certain problem.
Shifting from an Employee Mindset to an Abundance Mindset
When you go into a sales deal, act like you have a million dollars in your pocket so you're going to live free. You're going to do and see things in a different light, instead of walking into the room feeling desperate. And when you don't have to worry about where your next paycheck comes from, you're able to dream a little bit bigger.
Bring Your Ideas to a Higher Notch
Ideas are easy. What’s valuable is the execution of those good ideas. If you can't execute an idea in the most efficient, productive, intelligent way, your ideas are trash. It's not going to make money and it's going to take more energy and effort.
For Every Level, There's Another Devil
Every time you get to that next level, there's a different challenge waiting for you. And this allows you to have empathy for people at the lowest level and at the highest level. And if you can come to expect these problems and know they're there waiting for you, then you're not going to be thrown off guard. You've got to be prepared for it as best as you can.
Balancing Business and Personal Life
Love your business but not enough to miss out on your relationships. Be the person who figured out how to be good at both.
