Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
Episode Highlights:
Beyond Mastery
You may be making a lot of decisions today that support and confirm your success and why you are where you are today. But are those decisions honoring the person that you want to be in the future?
Sometimes, we get so comfortable in the mastery of whichever industry we’re in that we fall back on it. And it’s important to ask yourself questions like who do you want to be in the next 5 or 10 years? Are you making decisions today that are honoring that person? And so, every now and then, you have to be constantly pushing yourself so that you’re evolving and learning continuously.
Growing Your World for Your People to Grow Within It
You could be providing opportunities to your people and helping them grow. But if your world doesn't continue to get bigger so their world could grow within it, then they're going to outgrow you and they're going to find different opportunities. And so, continue to grow your world, your knowledge, and your space. And give them space for them to grow within it. Create opportunity for them past the sales. And if you don't provide enough opportunity, they should leave you and continue to grow.
Saying No to Everything to Eventually Say Yes to Some Things
You have to know what you want out of your life, otherwise, people will always try to buy your time. If you don't prioritize your life, society will. And so, be very clear of who you want to be and what you want to do. Say yes to everything in that space, and no to everything else. You have to be so clear about what your mission is that it silences all the noise around you, because you're going to get a lot of noise. And because you’re so clear on that mission, it's easy to say no to everything because you’re running at a different frequency.
