  2. Operating as a sole proprietor can leave instructors vulnerable to being sued as an individual if a student gets hurt during training.
  3. Having proper insurance in place is essential, and not having it can be costly, as I learned from my experience with water damage in my home.
  4. It's important to have enough general liability protection, as accidents can happen even with the best safety measures in place.
  5. Requiring students to sign a liability waiver before training is crucial, as it can protect instructors from lawsuits and legal trouble down the line.

    6. I'll also share a personal story about an incident that happened at my gun store, which resulted in a lawsuit and a lot of stress. I'll end with a challenge to firearms instructors to review their legal documents, insurance policies, and liability waivers to ensure they have the proper protection in place.
