Mike & Kellye welcome several members of the Head & Neck Cancer team from the U of L Brown Cancer Center to the podcast. The team members consist of Samantha Reed - Oncology Dietitian, Jennifer Lutes - Speech Language Pathologist, Emily Dade - Head & Neck Nurse Navigator, and Dr. Paul Tennant - Head & Neck Oncologic Surgeon. Together they offer insight into the need for a holistic, team-oriented approach to caring for and treating cancer patients. They highlight the unique nature of Head & Neck Cancer and the tremendous impact it has on a person’s life; as well as their overall quality of life, even after beating cancer. They also share some guidance for self-care and offer warnings to people putting themselves at unnecessary risk.
