E18 - The Eagle and the Mouse: Finding Wholeness with Ruthie Lindsey

Listen Later

What if your greatest pain could become your greatest teacher?

At just 17 years old, Ruthie Lindsey was hit by an ambulance outside a gas station in rural Louisiana. She broke her neck, punctured her lungs, and ruptured her spleen, leaving her with a 5% chance of survival and a 1% chance of ever walking again. In this episode, our host, Hawah Kasat, sits down with Ruthie Lindsey, celebrated speaker, author, and podcast host, to discuss her extraordinary journey overcoming debilitating chronic pain and a long battle with dependency on painkillers. Ruthie shares how she discovered healing through self-compassion, wholeness, and letting go of shame. Together, they explore what it means to embrace our humanity and turn pain into a pathway to purpose.

In this episode, Hawah and Ruthie discuss:
  • Embracing pain as a pathway to self-discovery and growth
  • Redefining healing as a journey toward wholeness
  • The liberating power of self-compassion and shadow work
  • Breaking free from cultural narratives of perfection and worthiness
  • The importance of recognizing our shared humanity in the face of suffering
  • Letting go of shame as a tool for authentic healing
  • Transforming grief and betrayal into opportunities for deep personal growth
  • Finding love and freedom by embracing our imperfections
  • Building tender, compassionate connections within ourselves and with others
