Here are some power takeaways from today’s conversation:
Episode Highlights:
The Magic of Podcasting
Podcasting is a great avenue for building relationships. The magic usually happens when the mic turns off because when you're interviewing someone, you're sharing stories and having a conversation. You intently listen to them and try to offer value to everybody involved. Podcasting opens doors of opportunities. There's no way to predict what's going to happen once you turn the mic on and when it turns off. For Erik, it's how all the big deals in his life occurred.
The Challenges in Podcasting
Time: On Air Brands recognizes that while podcasting is a highly effective tool that businesses can use to leverage in their business, one of the biggest challenges of launching a podcast is time. And so, On Air Brands offers solutions to make it easy for businesses to build their podcast. All they have to do is hit record and upload it on the Cloud. But that also comes with the challenge to get their clients into this habit and hold themselves accountable.
Motivation: You also have to become a fan. If you don't listen to podcasts, you don't get inspiration and you don't get ideas. You don't get ideas of what not to do as well.
Quality: If you have a podcast, be in a room that has furniture, books, something to absorb the echo. Reinforce the room to make it sound right.
Tips When Co-Hosting a Podcast
This can be very tricky because sometimes, you don't want to hurt feelings. It's very exciting because it's new for both of you as you're exploring your voice as partners. But look at it in best-case scenarios and worst-case scenarios, when analyzing any partnership. Look at the passion each one has as well as how much time and energy you're willing to invest in. And if the partnership is worth building a business, you need to get the proper paperwork in order. Then you need to think about how to grow it and monetize while serving the people and being true to your brand.
