For the second episode of our spin-off series of the Route to Networking, orientated purely around women in the Networking space, our host Maddy Norris was joined by Rita Younger. 

Rita has worked in the Network Engineering industry for over 30 years, during her career she has worked as a consultant, a Data Center Solution Architect, and Technical Trainer at Cisco Systems, and is now the Cloud Networking Solution Manager at Worldwide Technology.

Maddy and Rita discuss how there is not enough exposure to the careers out there within the Networking space, with neither of the pair learning about these opportunities in school. They believe this may play a role in why the industry is so heavily dominated, as many women aren't aware of the opportunities for them.

Rita talks about what she does to encourage more women in the tech space to take on technical positions, as she emphasises that there is a huge difference between women in the tech space, and women in technical positions. We learn about where to head if we are interested in starting a career within this space, and what the best route into the industry is.
