Having a career as a musician can be challenging unless you are working with a school or company as a U.S. citizen. What about for international students? What issues do they face when they come here and try to pursue the same career path? Find out with our guest pianist, Moises Barradas from Mexico, a graduate of Manhattan School of Music.Moisés Barradas was born on March 22, 1992 in the city of Xalapa Veracruz, he began his piano studies at the age of fifteen. He completed a degree in classical piano at the prestigious Manhattan School Of Music international conservatory in 2016, in which he was awarded the Presidential Award from the Manhattan School Of Music. In February 2018 he made his debut as a soloist with the Amadeo Philharmonic Orchestra in New York City, performing Mozart K.466 piano concerto in D minor, and in May of the same year he graduated from the Master's Degree in Piano at the same Conservatory under the studio of the renowned Professor Phillip Kawin. Moisés has been a soloist, has performed chamber music and has also collaborated in various recitals. He has performed in Mexican venues such as the Faculty of Music of the Veracruzana University, the Superior Institute of Music of the State of Veracruz, the theater of the state of Veracruz, the Xalapa Museum of Anthropology and the tlaqná cultural center, as well as in American venues such as The Julliard School, Manhattan School of Music, Steinway Hall NYC among others. He funded a non profit organization “CIBAR” in order to promote fine arts and make it accessible to everyone. This organization has crated piano festivals, in which he has given talks, private lessons and master classes.
