Alena’s career path has not been straightforward. Her focus in optimization motivated her to pursue Construction Management training shortly after she received Master’s degree in Architecture. Alena entered Canadian construction industry as a pursuits coordinator but due to her interest in technology and optimization, she shifted to BIM path and had worked in various Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) roles for over 7 years most of which she spent on sites working on healthcare, transportation, wastewater and pharmaceutical projects.
These days Alena’s job is to make sure that everyone at Ellisdon who needs VDC tools gets them and knows how to make the best use of them.
As a past Board Director at The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) and a co-chair of Construction management Think Tank at Canada BIM Council (CanBIM), Alena is an advocate of women in technology and construction.
