Episode 233 - CO-HOST - Jane Pilger - The Binge Breakthrough Podcast - Listeners see themselves in our stories
I still vividly remember my first binge – the aftermath of a care package filled with fun-sized candy bars during my first semester in college. Surrounded by empty wrappers, I felt broken and ashamed. Little did I know that this moment would kickstart a 25+ year cycle of restricting and bingeing.
Decades of therapy, treatment, and restrictive diets followed. I tried changing my thoughts, seeking control, and navigating two rounds of intensive outpatient therapy. But what I didn't understand was my body, its needs, and how to cultivate trust within myself.
It wasn't until I delved into the science of the brain and body, embraced a trauma-informed approach, and filled my journey with compassion that I began to truly transform. I learned to create safety, trust, and connection within myself, reshaping my inner dialogue.
Now, my passion lies in helping women who have struggled with food for decades to find food freedom and body trust. My approach is rooted in both science and compassion, offering a path towards healing and self-empowerment.
