You know when you're having a bad day and suddenly, you find yourself taking it out on other people? That happened to me today. I was in my own world (my tiny yard), mowing the grass, spraying the weeds, when suddenly, there was a neighbor walking her dog by my house. My dog, not being the nicest creature, tried to bite her dog. Mind you, I was unaware of this since I had earbuds in with music on. I was admittedly having not the best day so I basically told her my dog was just defending his yard. Long story short, I totally reacted to the situation because of what was going on with my own day. It had nothing to do with her! I immediately went over to her house and apologized. She was very kind and gracious and, what was really cool, was that she realized my reaction had nothing to do with her. I learned the lesson that I need to take a step back and see that my bad day doesn't need to hurt someone else. The other lesson is that how people treat you has to do with them, not you. So don't take it all so personal, because it's not. In the end, I still have a neighbor to wave at and chat with over the fence. It was a good little lesson for me and hopefully for you as well!
