Welcome to episode 26 where I speak to Rachel Maia, NZ para climber and record holder. Rachel brought home New Zealand's first climbing medal this year coming second at the World Cup in Salt Lake City. We talk about her journey through a major ankle injury which led to multiple surgeries thereafter, before having a lower limb amputation in 2019. This was a really meaningful and raw conversion especially around mental health. A heads up this episode does mention suicide, and as September is world suicide awareness month, this is your reminder to check in with those around you.
