If there are two things we love more than anything, it's badass women and standing up for what we believe in! Belén & Nicole (and myself) used to work for a well-known organization in NYC that is founded in helping artists GROW and LEARN with industry professionals. After realizing that this organization wasn't fulfilling their mission statement due to allegations of racism, sexism, blacklisting, inappropriate misconduct, and violating NYC labor laws, they kickstarted a group forum so that those who have experienced these issues were able to safely express them in the form of a testimony. They are now fully advocating for those who have been wronged, hoping to change the way the organization is currently being run, all while creating their own organization that helps people transition into recognizing their racism/privilege so they can enter a workplace with a blank slate. PLEASE check these lovely ladies out, show them support, and let's all continue to learn together, and tear down institutions that won't get their sh*t together.
