E34(mini) Can I get a refund if my Canadian immigration application is refused?

Listen Later

When it comes to government fees, most application fees are for processing your application only. Once the processing starts, you will not be eligible for a refund of your payment, even if your application is refused.

There are exceptions to this rule though. Here is a list of fees that are refundable if your application is refused:

- Consular Fee (varies)

- Employer Compliance Fee (CAD $230)

- Open Work Permit (LMIA exempt) Fee (CAD $100)

- International Experience Class Fee (CAD $156)

- Right of Permanent Residence Fee (CAD $515)

- Right of Citizenship Fee (CAD $100)

*Note: A Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant cannot refund their professional service fees if your application is rejected. This is called "Contingency Fees" and is strictly prohibited by the CICC.
