Without a strong studio foundation, a studio cannot have lasting retention or growth. All teachers must take the time to consider their studio values so that they know how to accurately promote their studio and recruit students.

Consider asking yourself these questions:

Who has impacted your music career?

What traits did your teacher have that you loved? 

What do you love about playing your instrument? 

Why did you decide to teach in the first place? 

Who do you want to teach? 

What do you want to teach? 

What musical skills do you want to give?

What life skills do you hope to teach?

What developmental skills do you hope to pass on? 

What level of achievement do you want your students to arrive at?
