E35: Coping with kids on School Holidays and what we do on shortened weeks!

Having just come off the back of Easter and Anzac Day Public Holidays and the School Holidays we discuss our approach to shortened weeks work wise and what we do when kids are home from school.
If you do the maths, there's roughly 12 weeks of school holidays a year, but only 4 weeks of annual leave and school holidays usually elicits the following emotions: fear, worry and exhaustion!
So how do you cope?
Then with missed days at work you end up trying to squeeze more work in to less time and the pressure builds.
We talk about how things work in our households and what we got up to over the extended break.

Gender roles are changing and blending together and the stay-at-home dad or part time dad population is growing.
More fathers than ever are participating in their children's nurturing and upbringing.
The thing is that fathers and mothers come into the parenting process differently though. For the mother, the connection is biological. It's a part of her.
Fathering, on the other hand, is less so. Therefore, it's important for men to learn the skills they need to be a good dad. For some guys it's more intuitive, like kicking a football, but most guys need a coach or some direction.
