This leads into a discussion on the current state of the metal scene, particularly modern metalcore. Is the scene stagnant, like a snake eating it’s own tail, with bands failing to innovate, or does this reflect more on Dews’ own feeling of disconnection from modern music? There's no rule that says you have to keep liking the same thing forever, so why does it feel bad to lose the love for something?
