E5: Feel good, summer loving songwriting w/ Rob Humm (Rooskin)
Rooskin is a five-piece band from Southend, Essex. Combining their array of influences they create a weave of psychedelic, surf-enthused indie pop anthems!
With influences like Real Estate, Mac Demarco, War on Drugs, Bombay Bicycle Club, and Tame Impala you can hear the saccharine Indie-Pop heart beating beneath the hazy-wavey tones.
Rob and Matt have been playing music together since school through different bands and sounds until they started Rooskin and Met Felix when they needed a drummer for the debut UK support tour with Tugboat Captain.
Rob met Buddy (Keys) and Pete (Bass and Production) while working on tours throughout Europe.
After a handful of feeler singles, Pete helped Rooskin find their signature sound with influences like Real Estate, Mac Demarco, War on Drugs, and Tame Impala with an Indie-Pop heart beating between the hazy tones.
On this episode, I speak with Rob, one of two frontmen in Essex Psych-pop band Rooskin. Playing in bands since the end of school and previously working as a tour driver he is well-connected to the local and national music scene.
