In 2008 Travis Alexander was found brutally slain in his Mesa, Arizona home. His murder shook his friends and the local congregation of the Mesa Temple where he was a practicing member of the Church of Latter Day Saints. The investigation quickly honed in on Alexander's ex-girlfriend, Jodi Arias, and the subsequent investigation and trial quickly took hold of the country. The lurid details of the crime, coupled with Arias's erratic and often bizarre behavior, put the murder in the headlines nationwide.
