Humility is such an effective tool - it releases you to do what you know in your heart of hearts is correct by factoring out the ego in the process and swallowing pride to move your personal meter.  To say the least, it's a survival of the creative technique, and it's attractive.  No one likes someone who is committed to a belief they no longer believe in but need to save face.  FUGLY.
