On Episode 6 of the Wedding Mavericks podcast I am in conversation with wedding photographer Neil Jackson.
Whilst still at school Neil captured an image of his mates on a bench which sparked off an interest in photography, but music was his first passion. Playing in a band and teaching guitar was where he nurtured his creativity before starting to combine his love of nature and wildlife with photography whilst volunteering at a falconry centre.
Like many photographers, it was never the plan to start a wedding business, but after photographing a couple of his friends weddings, his business snowballed from there. A decade later he has established himself as one of the most sought after wedding photographers in Yorkshire, perfectly combining documentary, reportage and fine art styles to create a flawless portfolio.
Not only is Neil an established and successful wedding photographer, but he also travels around the world photographing wildlife in their natural habitats. From India to Svalbard, Tigers to Polar Bears, these images intertwined with emotional moments from weddings, really make Neil's instagram feed stand out - no wonder he has around 15k followers.
There is so much amazing insight and information to take away from this conversation, from attracting the right clients, pricing, providing a great customer experience and being true to the way you want to do things. A great discussion with a really nice bloke, hope you enjoy listening.
