THE ROSTER

E63: Real Hot Girl Shit (ft. Sam Hyser)

Listen Later

With Echo’s birthday coming up on Saturday, the girls begin the episode by reminiscing on past celebrations: the shady bitch who tried to steal Echo’s birthday spotlight, the trip to Toronto where they got matching tattoos. Annmarie provides updates on the Cowboy before Echo describes her weeklong hiatus from masturbating and how a recent procedure she had done has affected her sex life.

After updates, Annmarie and Echo bring on a friend they’ve known since middle school and a day one Roster Missionary, Sam Hyser. For their first episode this Women’s History Month, Real Hot Girl Shit is a discussion of female sexuality, friendship, strip clubs, turkey calls and the fact that no one really has their shit together.  First, Sam talks about her work as a bartender at a strip club, sharing stories of stripper brawls, champagne rooms, and a man who liked to be treated like a turkey. Throwing it back to E2: S.L.U.T., Sam shares her first, worst, and best memories of being called a slut. With humor and incredible vulnerability, Sam opens up about her time growing up with abusive guardians and describes her empowering experience modeling for Inked Magazine. Between segments of Two Truths and Dealbreaker, Sam and the girls discuss the dichotomy between motherhood and sexuality, the impact of being labeled a slut when you are a child, and how they have each integrated sexuality into their identities despite facing relentless slut-shaming throughout their lives. Finally, Annmarie and Echo share old memories of their friendship with Sam before ending the episode on a segment of Finish My Sentence.
