One of the complaints I often hear about web3 is that a lot of the projects, companies and ideas are solutions looking for a problem. Meaning that we already have suitable web2 solutions and that just because your project is backed by blockchain doesn’t make it necessarily the best real-world fit to solve the outlined problem. To be honest, I understand this criticism. I think it’s valid. As it is today, blockchain, crypto, NFTs and web3 can only do so much but where it can find a good solution-problem alignment is where it will thrive.

On this episode, I had the pleasure of chatting with Domingo who’s a cofounder of Homebase. Homebase is a company that starting today, February 28th 2023, will offer the world access to fractionalized ownership to residential real estate for as little as $100. Domingo and Homebase are trying to provide people the opportunity to gain exposure to residential real estate. Real estate, as we all know, especially in the single family home sector, has gotten exceedingly expensive. This is where Homebase is woking to bring a perfectly sound web3 solution to a web2 problem and help more people and families build wealth via real estate exposure - something that for far too many in the US has become seemingly out of financial reach.
