There was a time when college was the far-flung hope of every parent, especially the poor and marginalized. Sending a child to college became the stepping stone to a successful life, particularly when only 5% of the population had a college degree.
Now, nearly 35% of the US adult population has a degree, and the value has been largely diluted. Student debt is a $1.3 trillion dollar house of cards, and many students are drowning, with few good prospects for rescue.
In this episode, I take a hard, but fair look at the North American post secondary education system, and I discuss some of the pros, cons, as well as what I see as being the future of employment and success in our world.
