Most podcasters are editing and doing podcast post-production using the free DAW (digital audio workstation) called Audacity. Audacity has tons of free tools and about a small fraction of them are very useful for podcasters. The Audacity effects menu is long. In this episode, we show you the effects that we utilize mostly to make our podcast sound professional as well as creating commercials and other fun audio clips. We cover the ins and outs of echo effect, Paulstretch, reverse, pitch, tempo, speed, reverb and one of the most challenging effects tools to use, but the most important one, the Audacity Compression tool.
