About Shannon: Shannon Parola is the founder of The Game of Nerds and Mama of her nearly two-year-old, Marvel. She’s been a career nanny, newborn care specialist, and sleep consultant in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past fifteen years. As a mom and childcare provider, she has a unique perspective and insight for parents and nannies. Due to COVID, she’s opened her VIP Childcare Coaching services to support parents through their childrearing struggles and navigate the various childcare options available to them. What works for one family might not work for all, so Shannon strives to help families figure out a system that works to allow them to become successful as a whole. Her other baby, The Game of Nerds, was created out of her hospital bed in 2013. TGON is a fandom-based website that gives writers and fans a safe place to write and talk about the things they love in the nerd world. When she’s not being a nerdy Mom Boss, she organizes her husband’s massive Funko collection and eats gluten-free desserts while binging Netflix murder docs.
