The Scatter Joy Project is a non-profit organization + apparel brand that focuses on fighting the stigma of/offering help surrounding mental health and mental health battles.
I sit down in this one for a solid conversation with Zachariah Thompson of Scatter Joy to chat all things mental health, the brand itself, and of course his journey behind how SJ was created and why! Zach shares a lot about his own personal battles with mental well-being, fighting depression, and how making it through thoughts of taking his own life eventually led to the creation of a platform designed to inform and help others in similiar struggles.
Outside of his story, we talk a lot about the stigmas surrounding mental health, how it's become a bit of a buzzword topic these days and the importance of keeping a light shed on it, the value of talking about your problems, the difficulty of finding help sometimes, how important self-love really is, how selfishness in times of need allows you to be selfless for those around you when they're in need, the idea of inner and outer confidence in our mind, his mission for Scatter Joy and much more.
