Listen Later

Our special guest today has a BA in Clinical Psychology, and she is working on her MBA with a concentration in project management.

She currently works at a progressive Jewish organization called IKAR, as their Development Associate. She enjoys doing work that has a purpose and knowing that her work is making a difference in the world.

She was married at 19, had her son when she was 22, got divorced at 24, and now she is engaged to her ex. They had a troubling marriage due to his traumatic youth (a narcissistic mother and abusive home), but he is now on a healing journey, and they are happy to be giving it another shot. As the saying goes, "right person, wrong time."

Some exciting things about her:

  • She is Jewish and takes great pride in her heritage. She and her family were reform as a young child and became orthodox when she was 10.  She is now a traditional Jew and enjoys having experienced the different levels of Judaism and the various communities.
  • She is a vegetarian and firmly believes that there is no reason to hurt animals for food/ products.
  • She is a proud mom who believes that our children are our future and that our focus should be family.
  • She plans to open her non-profit in the future, focusing on individuals' support in relationships with those who have a mental illness. Throughout her relationship with her partner, she could not get the help she needed and plans to create this support.
  • She believes there is always a way; she does not believe in excuses. If you care enough, you can get it done!
  • Welcome to our featured guest, Lauren Epstein.
