At a meeting in late April the Bellingham City Council voted 5-2 on an ordinance demanding the grocery industry pay their workers an additional $4 an hour to compensate for having to work during the pandemic. It is very frustrating to learn that the unions can convince the government to, require by ordinance and then implement, pay increases in private enterprise.
