Hipparchus and Ptolmey in one breath this source marvels at the amazing lack of factual evidence for these two and then goes into intense detail and factual minutiae. I think there is real genius in just how many fixes where needed to fix the "its all bloody spheres you know" method. They can't see that this convience thinking used for the heavens is used by the authors to doctor history. Oh well, I think if you are picky about facts and logic you are going to wind up with few friends and be seen as not as entertaining as anyone who can create a good story.
