It’s still difficult for me to truly understand the dynamic between my parents although it was clear that my mother was the ruler of the roost.  When my parents were in a rage, which was often, they seem to feed off each other, escalating the situation.  My house was full of emotional land mines and by the age of 5, I started to learn that they each had their own triggers that I had to try to navigate. Or else.
