My Celluloid Heart Podcast

Early Murray: Meatballs (1979) and Stripes (1980)

Listen Later

Phillip starts the show with a little bit of the Stripes theme, then he talks about what he has been watching at home and in the theater, then he plays a little bit of Lisa Loeb's Are You Ready For The Summer. Then we get into the episode. This episode Phillip is joined by his cousin Chip. They start out by talking about Phoenix Fan Fusion and Jason Bromley and Talking Poop Podcast being live. Phillip talks about how nervous he would be and would probably talk too long if he didn't have someone to make him end the show. They then talk about Meatballs and whether they have ever been to summer camp. They go into some facts about Meatballs and what they like and/or don't like about it. Then they talk all about Stripes and dive deep and how they love the graduation scene. Then for some reason they start talking about scenes in movies that scared them as children. For Phillip it was The Thing (the dog splitting open). For Chip it was The Shining (the old lady in the shower). For both of them, it was Poltergeist (tearing at his face in the mirror). It's a fun episode and we have a good time. We hope you do too.
