Eskom's Komati Power Station in Mpumalanga, South Africa, has undertaken various initiatives to assist the local communities experience a just transition as the power provider moves away from the use of coal to more renewable energy sources. These communities have economically benefitted from the use of coal for centuries, and now they are negatively affected as South Africa pursues some of its Net Zero commitments.

Khanyi and Sibu come back to refresh our minds about the Just Energy Transition in terms of job opportunities available for the youth in the renewable energy sector. They ask the common question: "What can young people do to support the just transition?" Producer Siya went for a field reporting trip to Eskom Komati Power Station in Mpumalanga, South Africa, and had a chat with acting GM - Thevin Pillay - about their plan with the transition and how they are implementing their Training Facility programme for the nearby communities.
