Black Ecologies | Earth Mixtape
To commemorate Black History Month 2026, Earth Mixtape celebrates Black histories, voices, and visionaries whose music gives expression to ecological realities—from legends like Marvin Gaye and Koko Taylor, to Afrofuturists Janelle Monáe and Kamasi Washington, Gil Scott-Heron's history lessons, winter rockin' from TV On The Radio, and many more.
Black voices have always been at the forefront of justice movements, and through music they teach how social and ecological and political issues intersect. In the spirit of listening, learning, and lifting up, Rusty Loon brings an hour of music by Black artists who emphasize environmental justice, joyful liberation, and rad consciousness raising.
