Following an attack on the Earthcore camp, Connell, Mack, O’Doyle, Veronica, Sanji, and Lyrband are still trapped three miles below ground. They are desperate to find a way out, and they are about to discover that they are not alone down there. Meanwhile, up on the surface, Kayla Meyers is looking for any survivors from the camp attack. Her future depends on finding them before anyone else does. At least one staffer — Cho Takachi — made it out of the camp. Does he have any chance of rescue?
