As Samuel is seeking out the next king of Israel God says to him, “The Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart”. Our world is so deeply hurt and scarred with the prejudice caused by sin. Just like Samuel our natural inclination is to judge others based on what our eyes see but God sees differently. This week we confront our own personal biases and prejudice as we are reminded that we have been SET FREE from those inclinations and have been called to embrace a life of seeing others with Kingdom compassion.
