At the strike of midnight of the new year, I feel so many of us are pressured to make our list of resolutions, intentions, goals, and things we want to bring in for the new year ahead. However, so many of us fail to continue the work to bring those things in. At the start of February, we've already quit the gym, violated the boundaries we've set for ourselves, or broken the discipline we swore to commit to all year long.
The reason behind this is that the driving force behind what creates these lists of resolutions at the beginning of the year isn't something we've completely come into alignment with because we never took the time to really reflect on these things, and most importantly, on ourselves.
We talk about reflecting at the end of the year so that we have clarity at the beginning of the new year to glean what it is we need to be working on. However, at the end of every year, we all know that we don't really get the proper time to do that because of the rushed holiday season.
This year, I and the Guides welcome you to take it easy. Table your lists of resolutions and goals. Dive into some reflective work and deep inner work instead this month. By mid month, check in with yourself. And at the end of the month, feel it out and see what you have written down for yourself to work on for the year. Take it slow, take it easy, go within, and really feel into the energy of that which you want to create this year, and who you want to show up as.
