Spiritual drift rarely happens all at once. Little by little, we can replace the joy of the gospel with the burden of religion and find ourselves simply going through the motions.

Freedom in Christ is one of the greatest gifts we can receive, yet it’s surprisingly easy to drift back into the very things Jesus has already set us free from.

Yet even in the middle of betrayal, grief, and uncertainty, David shows us what it looks like to trust God when the people closest to us fail us. His story reminds us that God’s faithfulness is greater than human faithfulness, that we cannot allow bitterness to control our lives, and that genuine worship doesn’t stop when life enters the valley.

David’s journey also points us toward Jesus, the greater Son of David, who experienced betrayal, rejection, and suffering before going to the cross for our sin. Through Christ, our identity is no longer defined by the family we came from or the people who have rejected us, but by the God who calls us His own.

Many Christians know they have been forgiven, yet still live with the mindset of a slave, constantly trying to earn God's approval through their performance. But our identity in Christ changes everything. We don't obey so that God will accept us. We obey because, through Christ, we already belong to Him.

In this message, we explore what it means to stop living for acceptance and start living from the acceptance we've already received in Christ. Because the gospel doesn't just forgive your sins. It gives you a new identity, a new family, a new inheritance, and the Spirit of God within you.

In 2 Samuel 13, we see how sinful desire can begin as something small but grow into devastating consequences. Amnon’s unchecked lust leads to the violation of Tamar, fractures David’s family, and sets in motion a cycle of bitterness, revenge, and destruction.

Who are you? The world offers countless answers, encouraging us to find our identity in our careers, relationships, accomplishments, failures, or the opinions of others. But in Galatians 3:26–29, Paul points us to an identity that is far more secure: our identity in Jesus Christ.

In this message, we examine what it means to be a child of God by faith, to be clothed in Christ, to belong to one family through the gospel, and to become an heir of God’s promises. Our identity is not determined by what we have done, what we accomplish, or what others say about us. For those who belong to Christ, the defining truth is that we are children of God.

This message also challenges believers to stop allowing their past or temporary things to define them and instead live with confidence in who they are in Christ: forgiven, adopted, accepted, loved, and secure.

What happens when God forgives our sin, but the consequences remain? In this message from 2 Samuel 12:14–25, we look at David’s response after his sin with Bathsheba and the painful consequences that followed. David had been forgiven, yet he still faced discipline, grief, and lasting consequences.

Why did God give the law if the law can't save us?
