It might amaze us to realize that our federal government has ten official holidays. These are certain days that are considered important enough to have them set aside. In other words, they are holy set side separated. Many people even benefit because of these holidays by getting a day off from work with pay.
God's Word clearly lays out the true meaning of our Easter Holiday. "Jesus was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification" (Romans 4:25). Easter is the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus from the grave. The reason Jesus went to the grave is given in the first half of this verse. The reason for his resurrection is given in the second half. Not only will our sins be forgiven, but God will give us the eternal life that is in Jesus Christ who rose from the grave.
